Welcome to our lodge’s news and information page. On this site you can find the latest activities of our lodge and updates about our members. The Worshipful Master will be adding information useful to our members and those interested in learning about our fraternity.
Friend to Friend
On January 26th the Lodge will have a Friend to Friend evening. This meeting will be hosted by W. B. John Engstrom. This meeting is open to everyone who would like to learn more about Freemasonry in general and Glendale #23 in particular. Dinner will be at our usual time of 6:00 pm, and the meeting will start at 7:00 pm.
Brother Bill Coleman
Pioneer Lodge #82
Brother Bill Coleman was the newly installed JR. Warden of Pioneer Lodge #82 in Peoria, AZ. If any Masons would like to be present, we would be honored. Bill was our lodge brother and a great guy. We are a small and very close knit lodge. Bill’s death is a terrible shock and we covet your prayers. –Matt Johnson, Secretary of Pioneer Lodge #82
Deputy William (Bill) Coleman, was killed in the line of duty.
Degree Practice
Our weekly degree practice is moving from Monday to Saturday. Starting Saturday December 31st the degree practice will be at 9:00am. Our practice will still be held in the Lodge Room. The calendar has been updated to show this change.

On November 5, 2011 the Officers for the Masonic year 2012 were installed. William ‘Carl’ Melton was installed as the Worshipful Master. Congratulations W.: B.: Carl.
Congratulations to our newly elected and appointed officers for 2012!!
Congratulations to our newly elected and appointed officers of Glendale #23. Our line of officers continue to be very strong and without any PM’s in the Line!! Way to go Team !!
November 3
Elections last night at our Stated Meeting. Congratulations to Carl, Mark, George, Bob and Darold being elected to Master, Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Treasurer and Secretary. Installation will be this Saturday, November 5 at 11:00 AM. Thanks to all for a good year.
2012 DUES CARDS
Any day now the Grand Lodge will be sending out dues cards for the next year and I will be mailing the first notices. We are fortunate in that we will not have to increase our dues. The amount is still $80.00. Members who are experiencing either financial or medical difficulties are strongly urged to contact either the Worshipful Master or Secretary if special arrangements need to be made. If this year is any indication of what 2012 will be like, several of our Brothers are struggling in this difficult economy.
MASONIC BIRTHDAYS
There seems to be some confusion about the birthdays listed in the Trestleboard. The date listed is the day you became a Master Mason NOT the date of your birth. I hope that will clear up any confusion.
Operation Shoebox
Well, we have adopted a service member serving overseas and will soon be sending him his first package. In addition to the usual care package items he has made a request for medical supplies, school supplies and books. To keep things in perspective, the boxes specifically designed by the Post Office for APO/FPO mailing are 12 inches by 12 inches by 5 inches high. We have a drop-off point in the lodge for donation items as well as a jar for anyone wishing to make a monetary contribution instead. WB Danny Belford has also graciously provided a drop-off location in his barbershop next door if the lodge isn’t open. For a list of suggested items to donate, click here. As we receive any correspondence/news from our “adoptee” we will share that at lodge meetings. Thanks in advance for everyone’s support.
60 Year Mason !
We were honored to present WB Chester Gibbens with his 60 year Masonic membership pin last Thursday and the WM really made some eyes swell with pride! WB Chet and his Mrs.-Ruth-are one of the “Greatest Generation” that we all respect and take pride in honoring any chance we get! Check out WB Chet’s web site at www.chestergibbens.com for some really neat photos and history to include his photograph with Admiral Chester Nimitz!! Such an honor knowing these wonderful men and Masons!
