Brother John has been touring the country visiting various Masonic Lodges. While staying at a friend’s house in Philadelphia, he got up during the night and fell down a flight of stairs breaking 10 ribs, puncturing a lung, and bruising his spleen. Consequently he will be hospitalized for a few months and will not attend Grand Lodge.

I have purchased a very large get well card that I’m going to ask the Brothers to sign. Additionally I will take the card to the Annual Communication in Sedona to get more signatures and then mail the card to him. If you won’t be coming to Lodge before then, you can e-mail a message to him in care of the Lodge and I will print it and include it with the mailing. Please include him in your prayers.

Congratulations to our two newest E.A. Masons Zak Willes and Poalo Oropel. Their excitement and enthusiasm was evident last night. Welcome Brothers.

Thursday April 12th we will be having an EA Degree and there will be two candidates. This should make for an interesting evening. Bill Miller is scheduled to be in the East. Come to the meeting and join in the fun.

Congratulations to Brother Jeff Mason who received his Master Mason degree March 29 with his Father/Brother Terry raising him !!!  What a proud Father he is and should be!!  Brother Terry came in from Idaho just for the occasion.  Also in attendance for the raising was Brother Roger Pearce from England who presented the Acting WM with a silver Celtic Quaich (Friendship cup).  A very beautiful piece to be added to our display in the front lobby.  Both the Raising of Brother Jeff and Brother Pearce and the Celtic Quaich are pictured on our picture page-check them out!!!  Come to see your Lodge and see what is going on!  Or check out our Facebook page as well!!  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Glendale-Lodge-23-FAM/132060560665  Hope to see everyone in Lodge!!

On March 29th Bro. Jeff Mason will receive his MM degree. His father is making a trip here so that he can be present. It would be a wonderful sight if the Lodge room was packed with brothers. Please try to attend.

Brethren we had a VERY Impressive service for our Brother WB Chet.  The Funeral team led by WB Bob performed perfectly, and there were somewhere around 30+ Brothers present.  What a showing for a wonderful Brother!  Thanks to all that were able to come and attend this tribute and many many accolades were given by both family and friends of WB Chet for our Service and attendance!  May the GAOTU care for and help WB Chet’s family and friends in this time of sorrow!!  So Mote it Be !

At the Stated Meeting on April 5, 2012 there will be a Special Election of Officers. This election will fill the vacencies that we now have. There will be an Installation of Officers following the election.

Brethren, for those of you who may not have known, WB Chet Gibbens passed away Feb. 29, 2012. WB Chet was 94 years young and was at Lodge EVERY Thursday and many, if not all, know him or have seen him at Lodge. Services for WB Chet will be Sunday March 4, 2012 at 2 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Glendale located at 7102 N. 58th Dr.(Just west of the B of A building).  A Masonic Funeral will be at the Church in conjunction with the church service or immediately following. The family has request as many Masonic Brothers as possible to attend as WB Chet had made it WELL known that he wanted a Masonic Funeral. So, Please Attend these services if at all possible. Refreshments will follow the services, at the Church.

We have another Fellowcraft Degree tonight with Brother Walt in the East!! We are all very proud of Walt and his progression as we are of our entire line of officers!! Such great ritual work!! If you haven’t been to Lodge in a while come and enjoy the night of great food/fellowship and ritual as well as welcoming in a new Fellowcraft! Dinner at 6PM and Lodge at &pm ! Hope to see you all there!

Our weekly degree practice is moving from Monday to Saturday. Starting Saturday December 31st the degree practice will be at 9:00am. Our practice will still be held in the Lodge Room. The calendar has been updated to show this change.

Congratulations to our newly elected and appointed officers of Glendale #23. Our line of officers continue to be very strong and without any PM’s in the Line!! Way to go Team !!

There seems to be some confusion about the birthdays listed in the Trestleboard.  The date listed is the day you became a Master Mason NOT the date of your birth.  I hope that will clear up any confusion.

We were honored to present WB Chester Gibbens with his 60 year Masonic membership pin last Thursday and the WM really made some eyes swell with pride!  WB Chet and his Mrs.-Ruth-are one of the “Greatest Generation” that we all respect and take pride in honoring any chance we get!  Check out WB Chet’s web site at www.chestergibbens.com for some really neat photos and history to include his photograph with Admiral Chester Nimitz!!  Such an honor knowing these wonderful men and Masons!
